Nearly 30 years after Tupac Shakur was shot near the Las Vegas Strip, former South Side Compton Crips leader Duane "Keffe D" Davis went on trial Monday. Davis, 63, has pleaded not guilty to murder with a deadly weapon; prosecutors do not accuse him of firing the shots but say he made the calls that led to the killing and supplied the gun. Prosecutors expect to call 35 to 45 witnesses in a trial scheduled to last about a month.
