Local anglers reel in state championship, $100K scholarship to Simpson University
The briefing
Okanogan's Parker Marsh and Wenatchee's Graysen Hackenmiller, both 16, won the Washington State High School Bass Championship and were crowned Anglers of the Year. The pair missed the season-long title by 0.8 points a year earlier and used the near-miss as motivation, winning this season by a commanding margin. They earned a $100,000 scholarship to Simpson University, a berth in the 2027 National High School Bass Fishing Championship and a paid spot in The Bass Federation's adult national semifinals.
