PNW professional barbecue teams to compete at East Wenatchee's inaugural event

The briefing

The inaugural Smoke in the Valley BBQ Competition brings Pacific Northwest professional barbecue teams to the Eastmont Community 4-Plex on Oct. 3, with $10,000 in cash prizes. Alongside the professional contest, attendees can join a cornhole tournament, youth chicken cook-off and chili cook-off, with live music, a beer garden and a kids zone. Organizers expect 20 to 30 teams and estimate the event could generate about $45,000 in overnight lodging revenue.
