Driver who broke the sound barrier attempts another land speed record in Utah

British driver Andy Green returned to Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats to try to beat his own diesel land speed record, this time in a hydrogen-powered car. The 32-foot JCB Hydromax runs two hydrogen internal combustion engines producing a combined 1,600 horsepower, and Green hit 368.347 mph in practice. Green, who broke the sound barrier in a jet-powered car in 1997, says the attempt is meant to showcase hydrogen as a clean-energy alternative.
