East Wenatchee man injured in fiery Highway 97 crash

An 18-year-old East Wenatchee driver was injured Aug. 2 when his Subaru left Highway 97 near Ellensburg, struck a tree and caught fire. The Washington State Patrol responded at milepost 151, and the vehicle fire closed the highway until that night. Jackson Kenyon was taken to Confluence Health Hospital and faces a second-degree negligent driving charge; drugs and alcohol were not factors.
