Inside Meta's push to put open superintelligent AI on your devices
The briefing
Mark Zuckerberg published a 6,500-word manifesto arguing the biggest AI risk is a few companies or governments amassing too much control, and released an open version of Meta's model called Muse Glimmer. He outlined a vision of "personal superintelligence," where each user has an AI agent on their own device that can read private files without sending data to the cloud. The move sharpens a Silicon Valley split with Anthropic and OpenAI, who keep models closed, and came as Sen. Bernie Sanders urged AI CEOs to pause development.
