Housing, financial resources available to wildfire victims

Gov. Bob Ferguson's emergency proclamation opened housing, financial and document-replacement help for people hurt by wildfires in Chelan, Douglas and Okanogan counties. An eviction moratorium runs through Aug. 25, landlords cannot evict people hosting wildfire evacuees, and the State Individual Assistance and Family Emergency Assistance programs dropped income and household requirements. Replacement driver's licenses, ID cards and birth certificates are available at no cost, and the one-week unemployment waiting period is suspended.
