More than 30 structures lost to Little Giant Fire
The briefing
The Chelan County Sheriff's Office confirmed that more than 30 structures were destroyed in the Entiat Valley by the Little Giant Fire, including two primary residences, 13 secondary homes or cabins and more than 20 outbuildings. The lightning-caused blaze, which ignited July 15, had burned about 135,985 acres and was 10% contained, with 272 structures still inside Level 3 evacuation zones. Improved weather let crews advance firing operations along Chiwawa River Road while protecting structures near the Entiat River and Lake Chelan.
