More than 100 trees to be removed from Wenatchee River County Park
The briefing
Chelan County commissioners opened bids Monday for tree services to remove 107 dying black poplars at Wenatchee River County Park in Monitor. An arborist assessment found the poplars are rotting from the inside and breaking and falling in the RV park. Removal may be phased starting Nov. 1, with the first 53 trees out by March 2027 and the rest between November 2027 and March 2028, followed by replanting.
