Chelan County seeks state funds to repair Stehekin road before fall flooding

Chelan County commissioners asked Gov. Bob Ferguson for state money to rebuild Company Creek Road in Stehekin before October rains, saying the federal government has been too slow to act. Historic December 2025 flooding washed out 1,000 feet of the National Park Service road, destroyed a 400-foot levee and left the wastewater treatment plant inoperable. The county has offered to fund and complete the work itself, with road construction tentatively slated for September.
