Locals urge Ecology to reassess Sabey Data Center's air quality permit analysis
The briefing
Wenatchee Valley residents urged the Department of Ecology at a Tuesday hearing to redo its toxicological analysis before approving Sabey Data Center's air quality permit. Sabey wants to expand from 11 to 15 diesel emergency generators at its East Wenatchee campus, raising annual emissions including 35 tons of nitrogen oxide and 2.1 tons of PM2.5. Ecology identified Wenatchee and East Wenatchee among 16 overburdened communities for air pollution in December 2025, and residents said the analysis used outdated data and excluded local wildfire smoke conditions.
