Malaga street slated for drainage upgrades

Chelan County commissioners awarded a $222,835 contract to East Wenatchee's Pipkin Construction for stormwater drainage improvements on Arizona Boulevard in Malaga. The road is the main access point for Riviera Boulevard, and the existing system backs up with standing water during long rains. The project replaces catch basins and pipes, widens roadside ditches and adds driveway culverts, with construction planned for fall and periodic full closures with a detour.
