Small projects lift Home Depot quarterly sales, but outlook unchanged in a slumping housing market
The briefing
Home Depot's second-quarter revenue rose to $47.86 billion, beating Wall Street expectations, as customers focused on smaller summer projects. Global comparable sales climbed 1.7% and U.S. comparable sales 1.3%, with average receipts rising to $92.50 even as transactions slipped 1%. Bigger-ticket projects fell 2.1% amid steep borrowing costs, and the company left its fiscal 2026 guidance unchanged while announcing nationwide three-hour express delivery.
