National Park Service responds to Chelan County letter calling for Stehekin repair funds

The National Park Service responded to Chelan County commissioners' claim that the agency has failed to permanently repair a critical Stehekin route before fall flooding. Spokesperson Scott Carr said the NPS is committed to working with the state, county and community, and that additional fieldwork begins this fall to support long-term access solutions. The commissioners have said the temporary road built in June offers no real protection and have offered to fund and help construct the repair.
