The North Central Washington Fair returns to the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Waterville Aug. 27-30 with more than 140 years of tradition. Manager Carolyn Morley points to the Big Bend Round Up — professional rodeo mixed with horse racing and Indian relay — and the youth livestock program as the fair's distinctive strengths. Thursday admission is free, with Niko Moon and Walker Hayes performing at the grandstand Thursday and Friday nights.
