Little Giant Fire surpasses historic 1994 Tyee Creek Fire

The Little Giant Fire has burned 147,537 acres and is 21% contained, becoming the largest wildfire to burn entirely within Chelan County borders. The lightning-caused fire started July 15 in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest and surpassed the 1994 Tyee Creek Fire, which burned about 135,000 acres and destroyed 19 homes. So far the Little Giant Fire has destroyed more than 30 structures in the Entiat Valley.
