Cascade School District completes remediation for sinks after lead detection
The briefing
Cascade School District says its water is now within the appropriate range after 11 outlets tested positive for lead in 2025. The district replaced water intakes and installed a kitchen filter at Icicle River Middle School, and shut off two drinking fountains at the district office and HomeLink building permanently. State rules require schools with pre-2016 plumbing to test every five years, with action plans required above 5 parts per billion.
