Communications to improve on Icicle Ridge for first responders, local irrigation district
The briefing
A new radio site on an Icicle Ridge hilltop will improve emergency and irrigation district communications by fall 2027. RiverCom 911, which already operates 23 radio sites across Chelan and Douglas counties at about $2 million each, is working to shrink communication dead spots in the mountainous two-county area. The Icicle-Peshastin Irrigation District will share the repeater to operate four Alpine Lakes water releases remotely, cost-sharing the installation.
