Coroner's to host graveside service for unclaimed remains

The Chelan County Coroner's Office will hold its first annual graveside service on Sept. 2 for 57 unclaimed cremated decedents in its care. Evergreen Memorial Park and Mausoleum in East Wenatchee donated a community crypt for the remains, and a SaddleRock Church elder will officiate. Coroner Earl Crowe said the office holds remains 45 days for family to come forward and will reopen the crypt annually for anyone who later claims a relative.
