RiverCom board debates elimination of public safety agencies' user fees
The briefing
RiverCom 911 may cut the user fees paid by 22 police, fire and EMS agencies by a third in 2027, though board members were divided. A 0.1% sales tax increase passed in February on the condition that RiverCom cut $1.5 million in user fees, but some members want the Olds Station facility finished first. The board tabled the discussion until a Sept. 2 budget workshop.
