Leavenworth effort helps feed kids from struggling families

The briefing

Volunteers with the Leavenworth Backpack-Feed the Kids Program pack bags of food weekly to support roughly 68 local students from low-income families over the weekend. Funded largely by community donations and supported by the Leavenworth Methodist Church, the program ensures students receive nutritious meals to help them succeed in school. An upcoming benefit concert featuring the GladSong Choir is scheduled for October 4 at Snowy Owl Theater to support the initiative.
