Plants invest today for tomorrow’s growth

The briefing

Plants utilize photosynthesis to generate energy-rich carbohydrates, dedicating resources to maintenance, new growth, and reproduction. Deciduous plants reallocate nutrients and drop their leaves in the fall to survive winter conditions while storing reserves for spring. Understanding plant carbohydrate management can help gardeners properly care for perennials and extend their production.
