Dogs prompt partial fencing project at Lake Chelan Airport
The briefing
Dogs running onto the runway from neighboring orchards have caused near misses and aborted takeoffs at Lake Chelan Airport, prompting the city to plan $152,000 for partial fencing. City administrator Laura McAloon noted that animal control remains an issue for airports, though full perimeter fencing is far off. The fencing project is slated for completion in 2027 and will be funded largely by the FAA.
