The Wenatchee City Council discussed its preliminary general fund budget for 2027, projecting $39.7 million in revenues and $40.9 million in expenses, which would require dipping about $1.2 million into reserve balances. Finance Director Brad Posenjak noted that conservative revenue forecasts and non-recurring expenses are driving the temporary deficit. Additionally, the council announced a $5.8 million construction loan for a new utilities division maintenance garage.
